Ponies! Why do you not have a category on FA yet still? Seriously. They had a banner and yet.. still no suitable category. There's no pony or pegasus option for species and no MLP submission theme. So silly.
Anyway, pony characters belong to their owner!

Well, Sonic's been around for what, 20 years now and is the beginning of the anthro community for a hell of a lot of people.. plus the characters -are- all anthros. So that isn a surprise they have their own category. It'd be extremelly weird if they -didn't- hve one given how big/old the sonic community is online.
Ponies are newer! But.. yeah, I dunno. People is slow or soemthing. Or maybe they're just hoping ponies die off.

Ponies been around for just as long too though, just not these newer ones. I've played both Sonic games and with MLP dolls when I was little. I like them both but not one of those that obsess over such things as I have in the past.
I don't see what's so bad about them that makes certain people rage, if you don't like it, don't look at it.

Well, sure ponies have been along just as long. But not as anthro thing and not with the extreme long lasting popularity that Sonic has. If you went looking in the last ten years you'd have some trouble finding people really into ponies still. Like, sure, there's forums and a big community.. but if you're looking in random places you're going to find 100s of sonic people to the one or two MLP people, at least until two years ago anyway.
People are just anti-popular. Plus OMG IT'S A LITTLE GIRL'S SHOW AND YOU'RE A GUY. AHHHH. Etc etc. Typical stupidity an such.

lol ya, i love how people classify certain things to certain genders, it drives me nuts. McD's, a customer got mad cuz her son got a female chipmunk for his toy. And I facepalmed, it's not a girl or boy toy. it's just a toy and they only had one at the time, and it was that female one.
Or when I was little, my parents would meet up with a bunch of their friends and one brought over their two sons and two movies, one transformers and one barbie (or something forgot) because they knew i was a girl...and the boys were like "which one do you want to watch?" I immediately picked transformers (was an animated one before the ones with megan fox came out)
