"By the formation of the Goblinoid Commonwealth, it was becoming clear that between the ravages of the third and fourth world wars, the depletion of natural resources and our ever increasing population, even with the rapid rate of technological advance Gol would not be able to support us into the far future.

"Our efforts then, were turned to the stars, and in 2062, Pioneer, the first long-distance spacefaring colony vessel was launched. Carrying a dozen "pods" of 70 goblinoids each, it's voyage brought it to the nearest planet earlier probes found evidence of water on, a red planet goblinkind called Volis. Possessing an atmosphere and water in abundance, the Pioneer discharged it's colony pods, scattering them over the planet's surface to create small bases, and terraform the rocky landscape.

"Though the air was unbreathable, and the water required some filtration, where soil could be found on the planet, Gol's plants thrived, and within a decade the second wave of colonists arrived. It was on Volis goblinkind took it's first step to become one of the great spacefaring powers of modern times."
