There is, but I think I'd need to advertise a fair bit there to get commissions that are really interesting to work on. In the past I haven't had much luck in that community.
I've got some bros there that have made for some pretty awesome trades though, I'll say that much.

Thanks, man! :D I'm especially happy with the feet. I struggled to come up with something fairly unique, and in the end they got loosely modelled after hands.

I don't think water, but I'm not sure where they do live. I know that they are temporarily living attached to pods in some kind of stasis on their ship, but I don't know what their home planet is like.
I really want to read the story that  missame is writing that involves these guys, but I don't think it's done yet. c:

Their planet was very much underground. There was an above ground species but these guys were underground, they were born in caves and lived in extravagant tunnels under the ground. I can't really give too much away because it's important in my book and kind of a spoiler. ;P

Wow that's a huge compliment :) Because to me my descriptions are horrible compared to how excess transforms them into drawings. XD But then again no one ever likes their own stuff :P Glad you like the design :) And so happy that you can see them crawling through caves. I always worry about my ideas coming across. XD

Ok I really don't think you understand how much I love this! I had to look away from it for like 40 mins before I could come back and CALMLY write a review. I was hyperventilating and screaming and jumping.... It wasn't too pretty lol. Once again you have come back with THE GREATEST design I could ever ask for. Better than I ever imagined. I was getting impatient but I was like "the longer I wait the cooler it will be!" AND IT IS!! Seriously Excess, you... have completely out done yourself once again. I though my Vinik looked amazing but this....this... this I HAVE NO WORDS!! I love them both equally! This one just, wow. You made it look (once again) way better than my original idea. Which I'm so thankful for. XD So to sum up that rather large paragraph

Oh man, you had every right to be impatient because I kept you(and a few others) waiting for WAY too long. I'm not going to make any excuses, but I definitely won't be taking any more commissions until I'm in a position to complete them within a more reasonable time frame.

That said, I am super glad that you like the design! I'm totally smitten with the concept you've come up with and I'd really like to know more about it. I've even checked your site a couple times, in hopes that you'd released the first chapter, but ALAS. I'll have to wait and keep checking. ;D
I'm 100% on board with any design work you need done. Your descriptions are fantastic to work from, and your ideas are so cool, I'll never turn down a commission from you. Though the next time will be when I can offer a much better turn around. You seriously shouldn't ever have to wait like that, and it was my fault for taking on commissions while all knocked up. <3

Anyway, I'm really glad to hear how much you like my concept. <3 I've worked on it too long for people to hate it ya know? XD And omg so sorry I haven't put up the first chapter! D: I haven't even typed it up yet from my notebook scribbles. I'm really scared of it lol I haven't even touched it since I stopped in November because I'm scared I'm going to read it and find out it sucks horribly and there's nothing I can do to fix it. :P But probably in the next month I should have the first chapter up and slowly but surely I'll put what I have up somewhere (maybe lol).

I will totally come to you with any and all design concepts I need drawn up. Because as far as I'm concerned you're the only person I trust to draw the alien with mostly what I want but with some better parts. XD So you're now my go-to-artist. ;D lol

Well I love aliens. I probably love drawing aliens more than anything else. Mutants and monsters are close behind that. ;D So bring 'em on! Plus, I'm thrilled that you like the liberties I take when I design your characters. I'm always on thin ice when I add things to a design that aren't specifically requested, and I only do it with certain people because of that. I'm forever paranoid that one of these days someone will say "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I NEVER TOLD YOU TO DRAW THIS AND I HATE IT." and then I'll just have to cry a little and try to fix it without offending anyone. XD But we seem to be on the same page, and your descriptions and ideas just... make sense to me. It feels like it takes all the guess work out of it, and I love that.

I hope people would tell me if they were really bothered by anything I do, and so far no one has said anything. Even with what's been going on, and the general support I've had from everyone on FA, I feel badly about the extent of the delays. ...but the baby and I are doing great! No one expected us to last this long, and we've made it to 35 weeks so I'm really thrilled about that! ^^ According to measurements, he's already a solid 5 lbs and growing strong, so I think we might even make it to a full-term pregnancy, if we don't make it all the way to the due date! :D

You should design your own aliens then! They'd probably really awesome. I can just imagine it... Yup, they'd be awesome. Oh I always let artists take liberties with commissions. Mainly cause I know it's fun for them and it seems that I always get a better product in the end. :) Well when that happens just nod and smile and in your head curse them out to high hell. :D Really? Wow, that's pretty awesome to hear lol It's funny cause when I gave you my second description I was kind of like "Well I know she'll make it look awesome so I really just have to put a general sentence and she'll get it." So yes, it seem we're on the same page. Which is totally and completely awesome!

I've noticed that people on FA seem to rarely get offended and put off. Which is great for an art community. :) Glad you and your baby are doing good. Hope you do have a full-term pregnancy! That would be so awesome!

I never post anything I write. I don't even keep most of it. :U All I have to do is read it once, and then I'm like "IT'S HORRIBLE. *delete*"

I have a few! Zeek is one of them. :P The rest never make it to FA, but I post them on DA. http://excess-0.deviantart.com/gallery/ Often I just sketch them too, and they never make it online at all. I used to have piles and piles of unscanned sketchbooks, but since taking on commission work I don't have much time for doodles.
I'm also a fan of open-ended commissions when I buy them from other artists. Much of the time I'm just like "Pick one of these five characters. Go crazy. Tell me when it's done. <3" I don't buy a whole lot of art, but the art that I have bought has all been super awesome, so I think it must help to give the artist a lot of creative liberties.

That's for sure! You don't find this many patient and kind people on other art sites, I'll admit.

lol well the whole "pick a character" seems like it would be interesting. :D Some cool results I bet. I think most artists like being able to play with what they're being paid for.
