Why does EVERYONE think every single soldat in the Wehrmacht Heer was a damn Nazi? Not all Germans were Nazis. ESPECIALLY Military folk, just look at all these people who were against Hitler's regime that weren't Nazis in the least: Claus von Stauffenberg, Erwin Rommel, Ludwig Beck, Hennig von Tresckow, Friedrich Olbricht. I could go on. Just because it's a Field Gray uniform with German rank doesn't signify association with the Nazi party one damn bit. This is why I'm disgusted with the public education system, the German=Nazi thing seems to be commonplace and it is sickening.
Slap the Reich Eagle on there, SS Reichsmarschall rank, and various swastikaed up awards and then YES you would have a Nazi. The uniform a man wears doesn't signify affiliation to a damn political party. What's next? We going to say "Oh he wears the Army uniform he must be a Republican." for our troops here at home? The Germans had a law that military personnel could not engage in politics, voting or otherwise. This law was repealed later in the war to boost military numbers when the Russians were closing in. Not only that the Reich eagle with swastikas began appearing on Reichswehr uniforms around the time Hitler became Reich Chancellor if my memory serves me correctly.
If people would actually take a little bit of time to actually do a little research besides making snide insinuations based upon the highly biased teachings of the US Department of Education maybe Europe wouldn't be kicking our asses in intelligence and maybe we wouldn't be China's economic bitchslave. But no I guess people are content with subpar educations and generalities.
