This is the sellers photo of a basket case 8" fan I won for 5 bucks this past week.

Supposedly according to the seller this was in the attic of a house they demolished and it survived the demolition. Marked "For Parts Only".
Well I LAUGH at that designation!
I'm planning on bringing it back from the dead, though I'm not attempting a
restoration on this late 50's to early 60's Model 2004A DOMINION fan. Just function.
I need a fan for my workbench at work, and this all metal fan should do the job. It consumes 30watts during operation (The motor is probably somewhat crude) so it probably doesn't run very cool, but then I'm not too worried about using electricity at work.
Finished!!!! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7052424/

I've had a few old fans growing up and yeah, they do run hot. Pity you aren't closer or I'd give you an old Kitchen-Aid 3B stand mixer, I think that thing was from the mid 40s according to the lady I bought it from at a yard sale. Her mother bought it new. Still works, admittedly without as much oomph as it once had. We used it until Wolfcub got a new one and the motor sounded like it was straining a bit under load.
I will not purchase a new fan other than ceeling fan as the new ones suck. they are exsessively noisy, and dont push much air in the process. I have an older ge that has a tapered blade that fethers to a narrow point. Its quiet enough to hear the 60 cy. hum while its mooving a ton of air. Youll probably have this till the end o time. :)
