So what is the curse?

This is part of a Finnish legend. Off the top of my head, I cannot remember the hero's name, but he is a prince who is captured and enslaved. He is being tormented by the wife of the man who owns him and he calls down a curse on her. This causes wolves and bears to come out of the woods and rip her apart. This picture is based on a classic illustration where the prince is in the act of calling down the curse.
