More from Equestria. The change from being a unicorn stallion to a pegasus stallion has not been without frustration and troubles. Nor has settling into our new place been without its adventures http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7012640/ .
First there is the whole thing with the wings and the feathers. I have to remember that I now have two large, strong additional limbs to get caught on things and knock things over with. Next there is the preening of the feathers for which I am receiving a crash course in. Actually Rainbow Dash has warned me that if I don't learn to take proper care of them that I won't be flying anytime soon. What is worse is that I seem to be prone to morning feathers. Of course this problem is aggravated by Petina rolling over on them while were in bed. In fact in general my personal hygiene has dropped a bit since assuming this pegasus form.
Part of this is due to the fact that when I had been a unicorn I had picked up horn levitation pretty quickly and it had become my all purpose power tool. Now I am quickly trying to learn the skills that many adult ponies have had decades to perfect.
This problem is further complicated because a certain white unicorn mare http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6100949/ keeps levitating things up to high for me to easily reach. If I had mastery of flight this might not be such problem but at the moment I am still just an earth pony with a couple odd appendages tacked on to him.
Now when I first arrived in Ponyville one of the exercises that the doctor/ apothecary Charity Hooves http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6100666/ gave me was a simple test to help me gain better uses of my hooves for holding and handling objects. Effectively teaching me how use what I refer to as my gecko hooves. This involved roll a ball back and forth between my hooves. Of course once I learned how to levitate things I really didn't follow up on these exercises...Oops. This is something of dilemma for me because even a young unicorn foal masters these skills long before they can use magic to levitate objects. Time to play catch up.
Also I am having to learn how to lip write since I can no longer levitate a quill, pen or a pencil. As such the quality of my writing has, well suffered. And don't even get me started on what my drawing look like.
The object in the top right corner is fire starter that we purchased when we first got the cottage. It is made of brass and is filled with lamp oil. A wick is inserted into a tube that lets it soak up the oil. When one wants to use it, you simply flip its cover lid over and with one hoof depress the spring loaded striker arm while the device steady with your other hoof. Quickly letting go of the striker arm lets the spring spin a small pyrite wheel against a fixed steel element. The shower of sparks generated will usual cause the wick to ignite almost immediate. To extinguish it you simply flip the cover back over and wick is snuffed out.

Yeah along with strength training, ground school flight training, general school training, and pony home economics 101 I am spend lots of time roll that ball around now. However I also need to develop the coordination and skill to balance things on my back and head to.
I'll bet you get little sympathy from Petina, as she still has her telekinesis. While it might be convenient to have her do your grooming for you, there are dangers -- both in becoming dependent on her but also becoming her "dress-up pony."
Your writing and drawing I have little worry over. You already know what it takes to become proficient with a new media; this is little different. Apply yourself and you'll be fine.
Your wings, however, need to be managed quickly. Unless there's magic involved, they're strong enough to lift you, and that against a relatively unresisting fluid like air! So long as you're willing to endure the risk of bruises, lost or damaged feathers, or broken wing bones, they can also make truly dangerous bludgeons.
The lighter is clever, but if you can do some tinkering you can improve it even without introducing new materials. Just reverse the pyrite and steel -- it's the pyrite that gets consumed in that process, so a replaceable pyrite stick (with a spring to keep it pressed against the ridged steel wheel as it wears) would mean less waste. Don't go for real flint -- it's so hard it wears down the steel (which is what's being consumed with that form). Modern lighters use an artificial material called "ferrocerium" as their "flints," so that's going too far.

Well we have practiced mutual grooming for years, even in our mouse forms, but the wings are being a challenge. Also it all the moments during course of the day when I need to do "touch up" grooming that I am falling down on.

The wings generate lift from a combination of both magic and aerodynamics. Still you are correct to assume that the strongest muscles on a pegasus are related to flight. That being said they are really capable of doing some damage if you flail them around. Also for them to keep the right shape while in flight still maintaining there flexibility the leading edges of my flight feathers are very stiff and can generate some real nasty paper cuts if hit some pony just right with them.

The lighter like many mechanical things in Equestria evokes that 19th century charm of obvious thought and planning having gone into, but still showing signs of further improvement and refinement. Of course they are still in the beginning stages of an Industrial Revolutions. However theirs is not being so horrendous on the environment.

My point was that if there's a way to profit from innovations (something very important if an Industrial Revolution is to truly take hold), you can use the other worlds you've visited as inspiration for small things like the lighter. And while I doubt either you or Petina would prefer to be idle, the extra income or at least not relying on your own labor for your next meal would be a great relief -- not to mention being able to be generous with the local community that supported you when you arrived bit-less. (I'd be tempted to try introducing Portland cement and pizza.)

I believe you previously mentioned that Twilight Sparkle will be serving as a tutor to both you and Petina. Ah, here it is:
Twilight will be privately tutoring us in greater detail about Equestrian history, and begin schooling Petina on the theories and practices of unicorn magic. (From your previous post.)
Now I don't mean to malign Twilight, it's obvious she's a fine scholar. But a scholar does not always make a good teacher due to the different demands. I'm assuming she's getting some help from Cheerilee. Or is this arrangement serving to bring Petina down a peg or two?

No but Twilight has one advantage over Cheerilee. Twilight has been briefed by the Princesses on details about my origin and Petina's. Not everything but enough to know that even ignoring the whole event with the Lord of Shadows that Petina and I are a special situation for which the Princesses would prefer if not too many ponies knew about. If Cheerilee was brought in she would also have to briefed or else she might start wondering how two adult ponies supposedly growing up in Manehattan could be so clueless about Equestrian history, culture, and customs.

A valid and pertinent point. Knowing Twilight's tendencies, she'll figure out even more as she identifies the gaps in your knowledge and what seems to be in their place. Besides, teaching will be a learning experience for her as well. (Remind her of that when she gets frustrated, please.)

The pony with the intermittent cutie mark!
Hmmmm... I must have a dirty mind, because I'm sure you mean "Bed feathers" and not "Morning feathers." Although with Petina around... Feel free to ignore where my mind wanders, by the way.
As to Petina's pranks, if you look at things from an different view, she's really being more helpful by challenging you with her levitation-placed objects.
