Inspired by the work of such creative minds as  neekokarina and  the_weaver,
among others, I am trying out an interactive story. You (the readers!) will be able to give commands (or requests, or questions, or needless non sequiturs) to at least one of the characters. Except for the title page, I'll try to keep my own comments out of the story as much as possible.

The title probably doesn't mean what you think it means.

This is an experiment, which is why I'm starting it here. (I'm aware that there are better websites for this sort of thing, but I'd rather stay somewhere familiar until I see if this is going to go anywhere.) I haven't tried anything like this in years and years. I have only a vague idea of where the story might go, though I've put some thought into the setting; I don't know if there will be a Chapter Two, or even a whole Chapter One, though I plan to continue for at least a dozen pages. I'll see what happens after that.

Comments and advice are always appreciated, on anything, at any time. If you have never seen this type of story before, I would be delighted to direct you to several of the best.
