It's a rare accomplishment to make the vacant space of the picture work in that picture's favour, and your choice of background wavy colouring helps give the upper left quadrant the feel of unrestrained expanse rather than emptiness.
The little details of clothes and beautification accessories are rendered with great precision, and one may get lost in the assortment of thoughtfully planted pieces of interest. The same can be said about the hair detail, not to mention the gorgeously fluffed-out tail, but the main attraction are the character interaction. The exchange of expressions here is the definite centerpiece of examination, vivid and serene.
Nice of you to have worked Widget into the scheme of things, looking perpetually astonished by things around it and watching its owner's back as it is in its character.
I hardly ever muster enough eye-power and committal to comment on people's work, but that doesn't mean I don't get the compulsion to do it. One of your latest submissions with the portrait of Razerz was particularly corresponding with what I expect of a drawing, and generally enjoyable.
May your work always deliver satisfaction to both yourself and your audience !

To start, that was the most thought out, articulated, and intelligible feedback I have ever received. It means the world to me to hear that, because good critique can be hard to find.
To explain the textures behind the ink drawing - if you look closely, you will notice it's actually a crab. I thought it looked kinda neat. I've always had a fetish for old illustrations and classical diagrams.
At first I drew this without Widget, but then I realized the drawing needed a little more going on. It just wouldn't be right to leave him out!
I receive every word and return it with gratitude. I was unsure about the previous portrait of Razerz, but you along with a few others seem to appreciate it a lot more than I do. Maybe I'm too hard on myself?
Again, thank you!

...And so, the puzzle pieces all fall into place. It is indeed a crab, or at least a very life-like sand sculpture thereof. Bravo ! It is the visual hidden room treasure not unlike that diagram of a hover tank you see if you stare at Mona Lisa for long enough.
And I wouldn't be too hard neither on yourself nor on the quality of feedback you receive as compared to mine, since I'm lacking any formal education to enable proper and meaningful critique, and often get carried away with praise or comment-padding nonsense.
That portrait is, in addition to its pleasant earthy quality, sports the most subtle of expressions, like wrestling with an potentially perilous idea that still seems pretty good presently. The pondering lends some dynamics to the picture, which is always an achievement when working in an inherently static medium.
You are very welcome !
