So I was looking through some other artist's galleries, and I came across some that looked like pics were drawn in MS Paint or something. Smooth pixel lines, perfect colors. It looks like it would take ages. And then I realized, it CAN take ages.
Back when I first got a computer, I used to draw pictures on paper, scan them in, then clean up and color the image in MS Paint. Friggin' PAINT! It was hard and really time consuming, but you know what? Even today, I can still look at these pics and say "those look nice".
Of course, back then, my subject of fancy was Pac-Man. Go figure, right?

You should see some of 
bo-gilliam's stuff if you haven't already! A lot of his MS Paint works inspired me to start learning how to better use the program.
These are really nice indeed! At first I couldn't tell they were MSPaint until you mentioned it.
