Two girls sharing a scarf on a cold snowy day, keeping warm and cozy.

I tried something wholly different from my usual, in terms of media, here. I got new paper, 300 lb. cold press watercolor paper, and did the sketch with pencil, and then "inked" over it with colored pencils, and then did the painting with watercolors. I used some white acrylic for some parts, and liquid frisket for the snow. I enjoyed the experimentation, and I'm pleased with the results.

The piece is done with colored pencils, watercolors and a touch of acrylic paint on 8"x10" watercolor paper. For the FC art show.

Thank you =D. I did a digital color test over the sketch to choose the color scheme, so I wasn't flying blind, which helped a lot.

thank you! The paper has more tooth to it than what I usually use, so it shows more of a grain..

I like how the texture of the paper is appropriate to the haze of the storm and the general sense of cold.

Adorable as always by the way. You're good enough (especially lately) that I really have trouble finding anything useful to critique.

For a moment I through it was digital until I read the description. The "inking" with color pencils sounds like a good idea, I might use it as well!. And the pic is so soft and adorable, I loved it.

I did that with one of my college classmates once! My scarf wasn't quite Dr. Who length, but still long enough that we could share and not trip over each other while we walked between buildings.

That's an interesting idea to use the waxy pencils with the watercolor. It's a really good texture effect without (I'm assuming) the smudging or smearing with normal graphite. I'll have to try that sometime.

Not gona lie I thought that scarf was a giant penis from the thumb nail since so much about it was fuzzy and non descript xD But really is too cute! I love winter, and hot cocoa on cold days, and snoooow! Winter gives couples a reason to cuddle up FOR WARMTH AND SURVIVAL! xD
