I think the saying goes, that the path to success is paved with good intentions, or something humbling like that.
It's funny that originally, the Kaz backstory panel was only supposed to be one pic of him as a younger self, but it sorta just kept going. I think this works out much better than just having adult Kaz blab for 3 panels to Gayle.

Again, One Piece logic. I mean Luffy got hit in the head with a spiked mace and brushed it off. "Doesn't hurt, I'm made of rubber!" Not to mention the dozens if not hundreds of times he's been shot.
So either there's an explanation coming up for Kaz's rubber-ness or it's something left to the imagination. Either way the comic remains funny XD
