So, as a result of someone mentioning Autoharp in a chat room, I've taken to noodling around on my mom's Oscar Schmidt 15-key. Which is also incredibly flat. I don't really know where any notes are on this thing, I'm just playing around and sometimes getting nice-sounding chords and melodies without use of the chord buttons.
For those who don't know - An "AutoHarp" is pretty much a mini-sized Harp, played in the lap or propped up against the chest and strummed. They usually have between 12 and 21 keys, which, when pressed, dampen all strings that aren't in the chord the key is made for. Makes it an incredibly easy instrument to learn to accompany music, but insanely hard to learn melodically.
