Deep in the back of my mind,
is a time,
when I pined,
for what seemed to be gone.
And I watched it all go up in flames.
It's the same,
when you try,
to move on.

You can't have what you dream,
so it seems.
You can reach out,
but never can touch.
And even if it's the smallest amount,
it still counts,
and it hurts,
way too much.

And some people you see,
you beleive,
would be perfect,
to have them yourself.
But then all of your fears,
become clear,
and you find,
they're for somebody else.

And everyone wants a home,
of their own,
while the homeless,
can feel it's a curse.
And even those of us longing for love,
hold the glove,
that will fit,
someone worse.

So to say that you're free,
don't you see,
is to say,
that you're really unsure.
Unsure of the things that you are,
and so far,
you don't know,
what you were.

In the silence of night,
it's alright.
I can sit,
and remember the past.
There was a time when somebody cared,
and was there,
but it's all,
fading fast.
