Finally finished my fantasy-xchange picture for this month. Took me long enough, 'cause it's due today. D:
This is metalik-fairy's cyborg character, Amstrad. I chose him 'cause, well, he's human. I need to practice humans more often. XD
Metalik-fairy asked for Amstrad to be in a lab or some place dull in her sign-up form, so here he is walking along a sidewalk. What's more dull than an ordinary sidewalk? XD Plus, I couldn't think of anything for the lab. :[
I really used this picture to practice extreme lighting, a little bit of perspective, textures, gradient mapping, and of course humans and clothing. That's.... a lot of new stuff for one picture, which is why it took me so long to finish. D:
Sorry that the light isn't super-futuristic. I was originally going to make it a futuristic roundish light, but I decided it didn't make much sense. Plus, since outside lamp designs have been practically the same for hundreds of years it would only make sense for them to be about the same in the future (except with the incandescent light bulb being replaced by something more efficient).

Thanks to ichigoromance (on deviantArt), nineblackcats (on livejournal) and everyone else who critiqued this while I was working on it. C:
The title comes from the song "Been to the Future" by 3. "Been to the Future" isn't my favorite song of theirs (I really like "The End Is Begun" and "All that Remains"), but it matched the picture the most so....
