Crispin, a rare American Cream Draft, who was rescued from a slaughterhouse auction and retrained into the sweetest, most patient jousting and Emcee horse I've ever met. This boy is honestly a saint and I love him to bits.
Here he's all dolled up for the parade at the Ohio Renaissance Faire.

Yeah... <.< The troupe uses Aussie saddles on all their horses. Because authentic medieval saddles are $$$$$. I've found one site that makes them, and they're about $5000-$6000 each. o_O (Historic Enterprises is the site, in case you're curious. The saddles look awesome, but damn. $$)
I knew that it was a Aussie saddle because that's what I use my self. I doubt that anyone that was not into riding would have even known that there was something wrong with the saddle.
Heck, I would not be all that surprised if some horse people would have even known there was something wrong with the saddle.

Lol yeah, I've heard Aussie saddles called all kinds of things, my favorite was when someone asked if it was an "eastern saddle". Nuuuuu....... >.> But yeah, the deep seat is really nice when you're jousting, kinda helps hold you on the horse lol. Personally I find them uncomfortable as all get out to ride in; they just feel awkward to me. Then again I've used my Billy Cook cutting saddle since uh......... well '97 or so. I love the hell out of that thing. ^.^
Well if its odd to see a horse wearing a Australian herding saddle what would they think of a Mammoth Jack Stock gelding being used as a jousting mount.
Right now I am looking in to getting me a Mammoth Jack Stock gelding and two of the things that I would like to try is jousting and polo.
