This is a beautiful story that my wonderful brother made for me. I love it so much, and it is just the sweetest thing ever!
“Right there.” Shaiyla said, as she released a golden arrow from her bow towards her target. She watched as the arrow glided straight for her target, a small circle that she had carved onto a piece of wood. The arrow hit the outside rim of the circle she had made, almost hitting the center.
“Shoot, I did it again.” She thought to herself, pulling another arrow from her quiver and readying herself for the next shot. Her white fur and blue spots all moving to her movements, as she slowly pulled her golden, bow string back and focused on her target again.
“Hit the center…” She held the string to her cheek then released her string, watching as the arrow landed yet again on the outside rim of the circle, right next to the last one. “Dang it!” Shaiyla yelled, as she put her hand on her forehead. “What am I doing wrong?” She asked herself, rubbing the white fur and blue spots on her shoulder as she looked at the target. She swayed her long fluffy tail side to side, as she slowly started walking to retrieve her arrows.
“I guess I will” Her sentence was cut short as an arrow passed right by her ear, hitting the center of the circle she had carved. She gasped as the arrow passed by her. “Who did that?!” Shaiyla yelled, as she turned and looked. She moved her eyes towards the faint glowing beside the tree she was standing under as she was taking her shots.
“Kori!” She yelled, as she pointed her finger at the person under the tree.
“Yes, Sis?” replied the Venidgon, as he slowly walked towards her. Kori was holding a black and green long bow, with a quiver full of black arrows with black and green fletching.
“Don’t startle me like that, Bro!” Shaiyla said as she folded her arms, giving Kori the “evil eye”.
“I am sorry, but it was a must.” Kori showed Shaiyla his dragon fingers. “You’re plucking the string, Sis.”
“I am what?” She looked at his hand, watching as he showed her.
“Watch, Sis.” Kori pulled out one of his black arrows and knocked it on the bow string. “Keep your hand just like this, 2 fingers barely touching the string.” Kori slowly pulled back his long bow, looking at his target. “Focus on your target and completely release the arrow as soon as you feel it touch your cheek.” As Kori’s hand barely touched his scalie cheek, he realeased the arrow, hitting right next to his first arrow but still inside of the circle.
“Wow!” Shaiyla looked and noticed that the arrows were so close that the arrow shafts actually touched. “That’s awesome, Bro. Thanks!” Shaiyla smiled and looked at her brother.
“You’re most welcome, Sis.” Kori smiled back, glowing neon green.
“So, like this?” Shaiyla pulled a golden arrow from her quiver and knocked it on her golden bow string. She then mirrored Kori’s exact movement on his shot then released her string when her hand barely touched her cheek. The arrow struck Kori’s first arrow, splitting it in half and right down the middle.
“What the?….” Kori paused and looked at Shaiyla, who was giving him a smirk as she looked at his widen neon green Venidgon eyes. “Remind me never to bet against you Sis.” Kori said as he pointed at his Sister.
“You’ve got it, Bro.” She replied, but then turned towards a apple tree in the distance. Kori started to retrieve their arrows from the wood, pulling them out one at a time. “Hey, Bro. Are you hungry?” Shaiyla asked, as Kori was pulling out the arrows from the wooden target.
“A little, why do you ask?” He answered, turning his head and watching as she started to run towards the apple tree.
“First one to shoot down enough apples for lunch, Wins!” Shaiyla yelled as she started toward the apple tree, running and giggling.
“Oh! You’re on Sis!” Kori quivered his Arrows and Shaiyla’s, running after her as they made there way towards the apple tree.
