This is, in fact, a vital plot element in the webcomic that has only been hinted at, not said up front. It's a rather old picture, but I feel the time has come to show you what the comic's really about.

This is the main character, Jonas O'Rion, a US pilot turned co-op specialist. He was sent into a secret installation in Neo-Greece to uncover facts about a secret operation known as project resurrection, while at the same time, discovering what became of the last specialist, Sierra Jackson. He discovered everything...but unfortunately, wasn't clever enough to escape unchecked. He was captured by foreign soldiers and immediately placed into their labs to become a part of Project Resurrection.

While drugged with anesthetics, he is slowly mutating into his "true self"--an anthro red fox--while doctors put on a tattoo, a subdermal packed with an electrocution feature, and being injected with a chemical formula known only as the Zeta Six Enzyme: capable of mutations with, as far as medical science could tell, little or no connections to the person's genetic make up whatsoever.

When he wakes up, he'll have one hell of a headache...only to soon realize he ain't human anymore! D:
