So! I had two of my friends stay over the weekend, played Battlefield 3 pretty much the whole time they were here, with the exception of some L4D2 with another friend here on FA :3
Anyways! Me and FPS games. Sure, guns are pretty awesome in design, sound and what not, and I there are a lot I play with. Love the M60, that's a manly weapon. AEK has -no- recoil and is just beautiful to use. P90 is an awesome little thing, F2000 looks awesome and the .44 Magnum is sooooooooooo strong and beasty!
But if there's one thing I love more than gunning people down, it's getting up close and personal. Sniping? Battlefield isn't a point and click game. :\ Sticking with one shot long range weapons is just... sad. Very sad. If I had my way, I'd be using the defib's to kill people. I'd be simply punching people until their head caved in. :>
So! This is to commemorate the forth service star on my knife. For those who don't know, a service star is awarded to you for gaining 100 kills on a weapon. I have 415, my highest killing weapon so far and surprisingly, it hasn't been hard to keep it at the top of that list. My knife is my weapon of choice. It takes a man to run a kilometre to shove a knife through your throat and I'm pretty bloody good at doing it. :D

Lighter equipment, provided the game's mechanics are not stupid like some other FPS games, they're a high risk high paying choice. Flank, get in close, do what you do. Quick reloads, pretty good fire rate and damage output, you're all good. Other games though can really be stupid with it :\
I honestly cannot fathom how a combat knife is an instant-kill weapon. I can't see the reasoning behind being able to charge forward, taking rifle shots to the face, only to stab someone and instantly kill them.
I can't play BF3 because I'll rage at the stupidity of modern gaming. and Light of Jesus 999,999,999,999,999 candle light tactical lamps and blinding laser dots :|

No probs! ^^ I want the Black Ops skin, looks really awesome =3 I only just got the game a few days ago xD Seems I got a long way to go before I get it then! I'd be careful with that knife logic, could turn into Knifeception! Person A knifed by Person B, Person B knifed by Person C etc XD
Uh, see, that'd work if I actually got knifed. And it's not really "knifeception" more than it is sequential knife kills. :\ Knifeception would be getting stabbed within getting stabbed within getting stabbed if I'm correct...? x3
But yeah, early on, whenever someone wearing that black camo killed me, it struck fear into me. You always shit bricks when running into someone with that skin, unless you have it, then it's a race to who can pull the trigger faster x3

Hehe too true, you are correct, so it wouldn't really be knifeception, just a chain of knife kills xD besides, knifeception can't be near as fun as the idea of voreception, but that's a different topic altogether xD
I must say, in dark places, I can probably understand why it would but for the time I've played online, which hasn't really been long, I've not been killed or even quite seen anyone with the skin yet D= Say, do you have it on 360? Or have you purchased it for PC?

Didn't know you played xbox.
And I just assumed you wouldn't knife on normal because lots of radar spotting
(actually, thinking of that... people are stupid and usually don't watch the radar, so nevermind)
I play on PC (as you probably noticed) and I always have to see "default camo" when I go for appearance.

Yeah, people are stupid. :\ I mean, when I'm feeling lazy, I just pop in the MAV and spot people out so they can be seen on radar... yet everyone is constantly flanked. Maybe it's because I play with shit players. I have a tendency to join losing teams or really shit players 90% of the time. :<
But yeah, the camo thing has happened a few times with me and some of my friends. Put me on Khaki at some point for no reason instead of the black ops skin. Was bloody retarded.

I often use the mav on rush maps. Some teams work so well with it. Some other teams are BLIND to the radar and get fucked over badly.
Sometimes when I play with MAV I squish people. Mav-roadkill is hilarious when you smack a sniper.
>pick up recon kit from dead guy
>90% chance that he has his gadgets left
most time it's even just a TUGs.
It's outrageous when your team loses all five bases or gets rush-raped/spawn bashed.

It is, and it's stupid. I spend most of my time drop shanking people at point C on Seine Crossing. Jump out the window above the stairs and chase them up with a knife. But god that map is great for the MAV/T-UGS.
It just happens to often, doesn't it? You join a match and your team stonewalls on defending, no one gets through once your team sets up. Come to assaulting, your team can't even walk around a corner without dying. People use Mortars and sniper rifles to much on the attacking team. It's fuckin' stupid, and it hurts my brain when I join an assaulting team that has two and a half squads playing as sniping recons. That's great, everyone just keep getting headshots on the people that have no spawn ticket limit so that the none of you that are sniping can go set the charges. Failsafe plan there, no one dies, and... you get a lot of kills. Kinda miss the BC2 crates that you could just bombard with rockets ._.
And... yeah, I find a lot of people use the Recon souly for the snipers. Heads up for sniper whores; you're not helping anyone. The T-UGS is great for helping your team push in maps like Seine Crossing and metro or in any indoors area, and both that and the MAV are incredibly useful on conquest maps. It hurts my brain how people don't think of this. First thing I do as a Recon is get somewhere safe and fly my MAV around. Once it's destroyed and I haven't been resupplied, I'll run off and fight, popping a spawn beacon down out of enemy reach, where they wont look and boom, instant squad up close to an objective. It's paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaainful to see people not using that, though so beautiful when the enemies don't <3

On the other hand it's painful if your own squad doesn't spawn on the beacon/on you if you are far behind enemy lines, probably even near a base.
Nope, too busy getting lame headshots.
Using the sniperrifles in this game is at least a bit "harder" than in BC2 since it's not a one-shotter anymore, most time at least, but getting headshots is still stupidly easy. Point and click like usual.
But what do you think about the RPG nuggets that shoot a rocket into your face in no matter what area. House or other cover... okay, thats not so bad when they use it on that. Tunnels... meh, lame but... just meh, I'd like them to stop that crap.
Open field where nothing, absolutely nothing would stop them from using their main gun? BOOM, nope, SMAW'd
But still, thankfully no carl gustav anymore as well as self supplying GL-spammers or frag-tossers
Also, I do love anti-mortaring. When I see an enemy mortar on the map I pop up my own station and blow that guy to hell. Until he decides to stop because he notices I blow him every time. And the only other occassions I use a mortar are: Destroying tanks with team of enginners that don't use their rockits against armor, to kill some lazy snoipahs or to lay smoke across the mcoms.
Using mortars on normal infantry is mostly waste of time unless you have a MAV in the air (which doesn't happen that often because most recons are dicks (also known as snoipahs)

Sounds like a fairly balanced game. Nothing like knifing a sniper. Though I saw this video where this sniper was so focused on sniping he didn't even notice this guy come up behind him and place a claymore. When the sniper finally realized what was going on, he tried to leave his spot and boom. No more sniper.

Sniper rifles are one shot when you aim to the head, I like aiming at heads and I like using sniper, some of us like spotting and taking enemies from distance you know? I'm not saying I stay in same spot waiting for osmeone to pass though, I do attack and provide mobile spawn for my teammates, also I won't say that attacking with pp200 with extended mag isn't fun too, that thing destroys at close - medium distance.
There is a difference between being an effective recon and a useless sniper. Useless snipers sit up the back doing nothing but take shots at people. No MAV, no Spawn Beacon, no T-UGS, no nothing. Just laying down sniping, or moving back and forth sniping the whole match.
Effective recons will move up with the team, provide spawn points in flanking positions, put down a T-UGS or MAV to help their team push while keeping themselves hidden and out of combat and if need be, push with their team and drop bigger more important targets like medics, engineers, mortars and other snipers.
I'm not bagging out people who enjoy sniping, or people who enjoy the recon class, I'm bagging out the retards who can't effectively play the class for shit and sit there doing there noobtastic sniper camping instead of actually doing something to help the team.

I've run into very many different people who use very different setups with their snipers, sidearms and equipment. My friend uses the SKS with ironsights and a T-UGS. Got his tags 3 times. A clan leader I go against every so often uses snipers and is an ace Recon, got his tags to. Nobody is safe from my knife. Claymores, T-UGS, MAV, prone corner camping, all their tags have been stolen. ;3
Of course, there is one difference in that we don't play on the same platform, I think x3
