pitcher plants are interesting. By the way, how does it digest insects that get caught inside?

Hi there!

They're passive pitfall traps. Insects are attracted to the pitchers by the bright colors and sweet secretions and they fall into the liquid inside where they're subsequently digested by weak gastric juices and bacteria found inside the pitchers.
