This sketch was made for the May 2009 round of anthro sketch xchange on LJ. I was assigned to draw mechanicalkat's Amareth, <a href="http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=Amareth+by%3Amechanicalkat#/d1lq9ra">have a ref</a>.

I had a helluva time with the pose. I wanted to do an active pose, but I didn't like any of the poses I came up with myself (I made about 50 of them in total). The final pose for the body was based upon a stock photo of a dog running.

I'm also trying to practice expressions (aside from just "content") and open mouths more often. So it's awesome for me that her personality totally works for an angry, open-mouthed picture. :D I do feel sad for the poor ol' butterfly that wandered into her territory by accident. Fly, little dude, fly! D:

I was going to do a simpler picture (i.e. no fur) but the fur just kinda..... happened. Yeah, I don't know why either. I just kind of filled it in as I went along so it's no biggie. :)

I'll shut up now. Here's an Amareth for 'ya! I hope you like it mechanicalkat! :D
