Working on the feline base! (sorry about the eyes, they're a tad derp but was only using them for placement~)
Just nose detail to finish up on :) Crit on the shape welcome but remember the flash has masked a bit of the shaping on this :c

Here you go. =3
I was too lazy to open Photoshop, so sorry about the MS paint-ness.
Heh.
Well yeah, the best advice that I can give you is to use real life references (photographs, and if you have a cat..).
I'm not sure what KIND of feline you're going for, but I drew out a basic big cat, and one with a slightly longer muzzle too.
I hope this helps a bit! =3

You might be surprised just how long the muzzles of lions and tigers are in profile.

They are very heavy-jawed animals with long broad faces. Very different from domestic cats. A Tiger and a jaguar would be similar, cougar or leopard a bit smaller and more delicate, and of course cheetah finer again. If you furred the mask you have redlined as a lion, it would look very odd.

It depends on what you're going for
For a cougar or leopard, as pointed out, it's on the heavy side and the muzzle rather long. For a Lion it's spot on http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1311.....4299971134.jpg
A tiger would be somewhere in between, a somewhat shorter face is evident, http://mambobob-raptorsnest.blogspo.....and-tiger.html shows the shorter broader skull of the tiger compared to the longer one in the lion
That aside, a profile shot would be most welcome
