Friendship is Lycanthropic!
I said I'd go draw werewolves...
Now, to begin with… the crescent moon on the werewolf’s flank is, strangely enough, /not a cutie mark./ That’s a pony thing. However, having a crescent moon shaped marking on oneself /is/ a sign of lycanthropy. (Please see Montegue Summer’s The Werewolf in Lore and Legend as well as Atelia Clarkson’s and Gilbert Cross’s World Folktales.) I suppose, since there are no humans in MLP:FIM, I figure werewolves are normal wolves most of the time, but creep out of the Everfree Forest and turn into scary, through friendly monsters during the full moon. The marking helps distinguish a werewolf from a normal wolf or possibly from a Diamond Dog, whose proportions I referenced for this. Amusingly enough, I totally thought the Diamond Dogs were supposed to be Spanish/Austria-Hungarian werewolves, at first, especially since those lycanthropes love precious stones. But, turns out they’re not. Oh well.
Happy Nash-wolf is Happy! Thanks for looking everybody, er, I mean, everypony!

MLP:FIM is (C) Hasbro and Lauren Faust. However, the werewolf is "Nash." :3
