I went on a roadtrip with a friend earlier this year, out to see the great tourist traps of the American West, and I took a 4x5 press camera with me. Results were mixed. This was one of the successes.
Now that the mine has dried up South Pass City has a population of about five, but the mine complex is still there. It also happens to be one of the windiest places I've ever been.

I love it, although I admit I think I love it more in the 'small' version than full size. A 4x5 camera, huh? You get to play with some fun equipment sometimes.
Love the composition... and I just noticed there seem to be shafts of light coming down from the clouds. It all looks very abandoned and desolate, the lack of color just adding to that feeling, you know?
Nice avatar by the way... haven't seen it until now. ^_^

Thanks for the comments :)
Though, If I'm remembering the actual exposure right, most of the things you like about it are probably accidental. This was the 'one last shot' I made before hurrying back to the car, and out of the wind, and kind of popped it off to make sure I got something properly exposed. I hadn't noticed the shafts of light until I scanned the piece, and even now I'm not sure that they're not surge marks from too vigorous agitation in the developer. Very fortunately located surge marks.
But you know, I don't care. I like it, and at least one other person does too, and that's all I really care about. :)
And, yeah. A 4x5! I got it, along with a flash handle, a 6" reflector, about 30 flash bulbs, and a pack of Tri-X that expired back in the Johnson Administration, from an estate sale. It's fun :)
Oh! And the avatar. Yeah, I really like it too. I got it from Sonderjen, who is just an amazing artist all around. You should go watch him if you're not!
