The corpses laied all around. Nowhere was a place where the ground was untouched by death and blood. Zerodyme looked, now that she had taken care of the last few enemies, to Maro, and was shocked.
His left wing was broken, he had deep wounds at his side and his legs. His chest had a strange bulge, which was moving with his breath. Some of his rips were broken. His eyes focused one short moment on her, and he falled over.
Zerodyme jumped to him, turned around his body. He looked at her through half closed eyes and his arm touched her nose. "Zerodyme...", he said nearly unhearable and his steel-grey Eyes turned white, as his heart failed.
"Maro...Oh no, you don't!". Zerodyme shouted. Fury filled her. Fury about her, being too slow, about him, being so idiotic, so overconvifent. She raised her voice to a dark melody and the magic quickly took form to heal this idiotic, selfisch, overconfident, weak dragon, her friend and Brother in arms.

Not from my story, just written down to illuminate a bit the background of the pic ^^ (hope my english is well enough for this...well, was a try ^^')
