Green Bay and Western C424 #314 throttles up as she flat switches the Burlington Northern's Midway Sub Intermodal yard (near Minnesota Commercials Midway Yard) March 1994.
The Minnesota Commercial did not paint over the GBW letters on this ALCo for quite some time, much to the delight of local railfans.
Put this into Google Maps 44.97186,-93.186051 for the location of this image.
To this day she STILL is earning her keep on the MNNR, but in it's GBW inspired red Minnesota Commercial paint. It is my understanding however that if she does have a major failure that will be the end and she's heading to Silvis.
So, if anyone who watches me and works or volunteers for a museum bear this in mind that NRE may be getting a former GBW ALCo if something happens to its prime mover. ALCo's don't leave Silvis as an ALCo :/
Built As: GBW 314 (C424) 9/1965
Serial Number: 3382-08 Order No: 3382
Alco shop order 21236
Scanned from a FujiFilm print negative.

Nice! I have a shot of that unit in the Minnesota Commercial yard just last year. It is still in service!
