Behold, Ezara's brand new look, and one of the major paintings I've done for my art course this year.

This piece means a great deal to me - It's quite the opposite of what I did last year for the same assignment, but hold the same images. Religion and Knowledge.

For years upon years I felt that knowledge should defeat religion, that what I believed as factual evidence would win out over what others saw as faith. Last year, my painting reflected that notion and I killed the very same character with a snake. Hidden knowledge becoming victorious over a heavenly symbol.

This year... I feel much differently about such topics. Knowledge is beautiful. To look up at the stars and to know how they were made, how far away they are, their names and all sorts of other facts is phenomenal. To be able to grasp the concept of fractals, to have an intricate working knowledge of the human body... To uncover secrets of the past. That is BEAUTIFUL.

But Religion... The belief of why the earth is here, of who a fantastical and wonderful creator is. The struggles and triumphs that have been carried out in the names of God and Gods divine... The beauties that have been erected in their image(s). Religion is beauty, it is wonderful and all have faults and wonders.

Religion and Knowledge, for me, are at last at peace. I believe in Evolution, but that does not mean I will not step in if someone is bashing Christianity. Or Judaism. Or Islam. Or Wicca. Or Buddhism, or ANYTHING ELSE.

I am happy with my place in this, still very active, battle. I am agnostic, but I am greatly excited by the beauties of religion.
