I don't know if that's you're looking for, but the folk clothing of my homeland is kinda like this. Well, all Slavic folk clothing looks similar, so if you look for folk costumes of some Slavic countries like Russia, Ukraine and Poland, or countries found in the middle of Europe, like Austria and Hungary, you can get more specific results. I can give you a couple of google searches for some clothes from my country. Paste these in Google images: 'Vladimir Kirin nošnje' (an artist who drew pictures of Yugoslavian folk clothes), 'šestine nošnje' and 'slavonske nošnje'.

I love the idea of tortoises making glass products. Maybe it's the irony; glass shatters easily, unlike the tortoise's shells.
Aww, the dress! Is it supposed to be some kind of Slavic folk dress? I love the colours you've used.

Ah yes, I eventually settled on a vague design based on Hungarian folk dress, though I wish I'd had more time to research patterning and the like. 8c
