This is a new guy I have been working on, Four, or Emet... an artificially made life form which is more or less like a giant rat and a person combined. He doesn't remember where he came from or who made him, he just woke up one day and couldn't remember anything outside he was not supposed to look like this.
He runs on a mix of mechanical clockwork engines and animation magic...his outermost layer, the skin and stuff is actually organic and alive, but inside it is a bunch of machinery and sand, some machine bits are even exposed like his hand there.
He got his names from markings on him...Four from the tag on his ear, and Emet from the writing under his hat, a word used to animate Golems... he would effectively be rendered dead if the word is smudged, specifically the first letter, but if it is re-written he will be back to normal. If you can call this normal. Emet is Hebrew for Truth...Met means Death...by changing the first letter you can kill or revive a Golem...which is how the sand inside him is animated. Mechanical aid was needed for support and locomotion, normally clay is used when making a Golem but for long term functionality sand was used so there would not be the issue of him drying up. It is also worth noting that the clockwork things in him are very noisy, especially when he moves around.
He also has life from a soul that is attached to the body somehow...likely a mix of a human soul and a few rats or something along those lines, as he has a behavioral mix of both. But the body he has is not optimized for either, he can't really walk or move comfortably on two legs or four legs, so he hobbles around most of the time.
Four really likes to keep to himself, he is scared of how others think he would look or how he would never fit in...also he is scared of how he would be treated. However he is curious and quick to learn. He also has a knack for finding things, and, ironically, he is a bit of a pack rat.
I really don't have a universe for him yet, but he is currently my avatar in Minecraft...but I figure he would exist in some kind of Steampunk world if anything, populated by humans for the most part...he really is this oddity, even if the world had more than humans I guess he would stick out.
