Jasmine - Before and After Colored Pencil
This is but one portrait for a family friend of mine who owns four horses, but I finished one so far : D To be honest, I have surprised myself with the improvement I've made in my use of acrylic paints, but it's still not good enough on its own. As such, I used colored pencil to get in minute details (such as the 'flea-bitten' ticking in the coat), and the improvement is impressive!
This painting is about... four inches wide by four inches tall? I used acrylics with gel retardant (though the white is actually acrylic gesso - it does have a different texture and drying character than white acrylic), then colored pencil for the details. Maybe four hours for the paint, around 15 minutes for the colored pencil.
