4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence - by John Cage.
This piece was probably the most important of the american composer John Cage, as often stated by himself.
He died at the age of 79 years on August 12th, 1992.
The piece is seperated in 3 movements, which I performed sequently without a break:
I. tracet
II. tracet
III. tracet
(tracet means "remain silent")
The idea is, that the compositions are the sounds around you.
"The material of music is sound and silence. Integrating these is composing. I have nothing to say, and I am saying it." - John Cage
I dedicate this cover version to Ronnie James Dio, who died last year on ma birthday , May 16th, 2010 of stomach cancer.
R.I.P. Dio - You were one of the greatest metal vocalists ever. \m/
ENJOY your 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence!
