So turns out designing ancestors is incredibly fun and also I FINALLY GOT TO PUT THE NAME GUNGE IN THERE,,,

Because he's a mutant, he has to hide from the world to avoid getting culled. In the present, Speckt can sort of live off that anyway. In the past, it was far more difficult to survive that way.
That's what I'll go with anyway :B
