Someone please tell me if I am simply looking a little too deeply into the current trend of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic...but is there ANY comic original female character that isn't being destroyed mentally or physically in the comic right now? As mentioned above the echidnas have managed to avoid the female massacre, but anyone else?
Of course, all of the video game original ladies are still doing fine. In fact, Amy has turned into the new perfect character in the comic. She's attractive (Mobian standards wise), fashionable, owns a magic hammer that makes her able to fight countless enemies at a time and is even so perfect that she will defend Sonic and Sally's relationship and try to give them peace and quiet during a date...and people claimed that Sally was the Mary-Sue of the comic >.>
Then you got Cream the rabbit being a big hero in the latest comic, flying in to save Bunny from being crushed to death.
I can understand Archie not being able to really do anything do the game original characters in the comic, but why is almost every single other female character in the comic being targeted and destroyed at the moment? I really hope Lara-su and Julie-su aren't scheduled to be in the comic for a while or else I fear Archie will extent its tentacles to those two as well...
All I know is that after 20 years of having strong willed female characters in this comic, it's sad to see all of them being destroyed before my very eyes -.-;

I never thought the comic would be in such a rut after 20 long years, and you have every right to look deeply into the series, but I fear that the writers are just trying to sabotage wonderful female characters like Sally and Bunny so they can have an excuse to insert Amy and the other Sega female characters in their place, because why would any little girl look up to a strong, fearless, and intelligent leader like Sally when they can have a ditzy stalker like Amy. Excuse my harsh tone GB, but I don't like the way Ian running my favorite comic series to the ground.
Nope, although chances are this is more a sign of Flynn losing his mind and less about these chars. getting killed off.
Although...Mecha-Sally is most likely going to be sent out to kill her family in two issues and most likely succeeds or badly wounds them...so Flynn isn't laying off at all anytime soon.

Yeah, but us fans of the way thing were, won't be liking it one bit if he kills off all the characters we like that are of the comic only and of Sonic SatAM. I don't want Nicole to die especially! She's an advanced computer AI, so she won't be able to pass-on to the next world if that happens. Plus, I kinda like her..... ;_; The FF better not be forced to kill one of their own that's been robotized either! If that happens or anything else terrible to the characters, I'm going to want to "make words" with that guy who's controlling all of this!
Yeah. A good story has a nice plot, a suitable personality of the characters, and it doesn't hurt to have back-stories of them too. If they just do whatever they want without a good idea in mind, it ruins the whole thing! Especially if they kill-off or remove, almost every character in the story they've had for around 20 years! That's no way to keep fans to buy their comics!
What do you think of the comics now? Because of Ken Penders, they had to do a purge of every character he created, the comic now limited to official Sega characters, the SatAM crew, and characters created by the current author. (Breezie, from an old episode of Adventurers of Sonic the Hedgehog, has been reimagined as a Hedgehog Xanatos now...)
Ah. I honestly think things are a bit smoother now, personally. Yes, a lot of characters are gone for good, but I like the feel of things more now. They've handled introducing the Werehog rather well (the plotline is based on Sonic Unleashed) and the new designs grow on you. Antoine is better than ever (he has a SPIN DASH), Big is actually semi-useful now, and my favorite character Nicole not only has a better, less confusing origin but can regularly get a physical body now without being confined to the nanite city (which is gone now, just a normal city). King Max is no longer insane and obstructive, and Naugus has a less confusing origin. (Instead of being a mishmash of other beings fused into one, he's now just a troll. He was also made sister to Witchcart, the main baddy from one of the old Tails games.) Also, Rotor's back to being a badass again, taking the field as often as the rest of the Freedom Fighters, while still being an adorkable genius.
Aside from Julie-Su, I really don't miss any of the absurd amounts of echidna characters, and the new characters aren't obnoxious. (Hell, Thunderbolt the Chinchilla, Eggman fangirl and one of his Egg Bosses, is so damn funny.)

Ironic that after it was all said and done, Bunnie's character was ruined forever, Hershey stayed dead and the echidnas were essentially killed off.
Part of it was due to the lawsuit removing them and a large chunk was indeed due to Flynn's horribly written story, screwing up a ton of characters for the worse.
