Been a while since I've posted anything. I've been a bad vixen, not doing any more drawing for over a month since I got back from Anthrocon. I was fairly intimidated in getting back into it again after that month apart from the pen, but it looks as if I had nothing to worry about. This is my first FULL body picture, just a rough profile pic of one of the characters I've been Role-Playing as of late.
The character is Marcus Donally of Clan Fenrir, a lion of the northern mountains set within the Final Fantasy VII universe. Almost seven feet tall, decently muscled, and a thirty-four year old veteran of the great war with Wutai. He has two pieces of the family armour, a quarter chest piece, and a leg bracer, all along with the clan's tribal blade, which isn't so easy to see there on his back. It's an interesting, curvy sword which can also double as a pole-arm (Cue the second grip on the head of it.)
I've also tried fairly hard to keep my lines consistent in this picture, workin' on that steady hand thing y'know? Further trying not to lift the pen while doing single objects in there, messed up a bit in some of the long curves of the blade, but I should be better about that in the future.
Anyhoo, that's all I have for now!

One big thing you're gonna wanna keep an eye out for is arms and shoulders. Structurally, you've done good, but the width of the shoulders is a big part of what makes or breaks a gender. The ones you've got there look a -wee- bit too feminine. They're too close to the head, men's shoulder's are broader, and you're gonna wanna place them just a bit further out.
Arms themselves are easily drawn in two sections, the upper arm and forearm. The upper arm ends at the navel, so take that into consideration when placing them, and the forearm ends at the wrist, somewhere in the middle of your thigh, the hand hanging below. The hand should also, fingers included, be about the size of the subject's face. So palm and fingers should be able to go over the face.
Legs are the other object of your focus. You've got good detail on the clothes, but just as much attention should be focused on the anatomy. Try this. Turn your legs out, and bend them a little, like the character in your picture. Doesn't feel right or natural, does it?
When you're drawing, try putting yourself in those poses. The pose should feel natural when you do it, and the ankles/feet should twist with the legs. One way to remedy this, at least until you've gotten the method down pat, is to draw the body first, then lay the clothes on top. That way you can get a better feel of how it's supposed to hang off the body.
Face. One thing that you should focus on is the jaw line. The jaw should always match up with the frame of the skull, or meld with it at least. Try erasing a few lines her and there, you'd be surprised what it can accomplish.
Aaaand that's about it for now, I suppose. ^^;
