Haha cool! Did you see the one in episode...10 or 11, I think? When Beast and Wolverine teamed up to take out on of the bad guys there and Wolverine was all, "Hit me." I couldn't help snickering and thinking, "Yeah, Beast, you'd better hit on that." :P

Yup, the anime was pretty mediocre. I feel that with better writers, it would've been awesome. We'll see if it gets a second season sometime. Now, I hate Lion Beast in the comics. I really despise him, because I was a fan of old Beast (especially when he was drawn without the Wolverine hair), plus after turning into a lion he also turned into an unfunny douchebag. Anime Lion Beast, though? Him I liked, quite a bit, namely because he wasn't an asshole.

And dang, I had not noticed that crotch shot. Very nice find. Of course, many people also missed how Beast has actually kissed another man in the comics, so I guess it balances out. lol

Is the reason the storyline sucked so much because of the anime director or the writers themselves (who actually wrote for the X-Men comics, which is pretty terrible)? I dunno if it'll get a second season, since if it's that mediocre then it won't get much in terms of ratings. Which sucks, really. :/

Yeah, I have to agree that the current lion Beast has become unfunny, though I thought that the others (Cyclops) were bigger assholes. I like him when he's the jokester of the group and I think that the Beast from the S.W.O.R.D. mini-series was like that (if you can ignore the way the artist drew him). But yeah Anime Lion Beast was a cool bro.

Well, X-en has pretty much been ruined in the comics for years now. I stopped buying their comics long, long ago. Only some of the kids are not assholes, and even then they're being treated as disposable by the more veetran X-Men, like Cyclops, Cannonball and Sunspot.

I agree with you in that Beast is at his best when he's being funny and can act like comic relief while still being a badass genius. that's why I liked him better in Avengers. But it has to be the normal Avengers, because Secret Avengers also sucked, they even made him kill pretty much an entire secret organization by blowing them up. The idea of Beast, a doctor, killing people? Nauseates me. And nope, no alternate universe. Beast really has kissed a man in the mouth. This was back in the late 90's, when they started The Avengers again, Beast was still not yet a lion and being a huge goofball who could kick ass, quote smart stuff, save the day, be a doctor and scientist and save lives that way, flirt with girls and still find time to be funny.

Anyway, Avengers Vol. 3 Issue 14, March 1999 (I own it). Beast's best buddy Wonder Man had been recently revived, so Beast took a day off to go see him, and even got a bouquet of flowers for him. He basically enters Avengers Mansion by jumping all over the place, shouting stuff like "Hi, honey, I'm hooooooome!" and "Come out, come out, wherever you are!" and also "Bountiful blue-furred billiard ball, comin' through!". We hear someone (Wonder Man) being pretty much tackled to the ground, and next we see this:

Well, I recommend you buying the SWORD miniseries just to see the goofball/badass Beast teaming up with Brand to save the world. It's got him just right in the personality, IMO. :)

Really? Secret Avengers did that? I guess this is just something about the writers thinking that 'dark and edgy' would boost the sales so they do stuff like this. Which rather sucks, I say. : /

Yeah, it's a shame really because when Lion Beast is drawn right (some of the artists in Endangered Species got him perfect!), he's hot. But because true art is angsty, they just had to turn him into a morose emo guy instead of the funny one we all knew and loved. I agree though, he was awesome in the SWORD miniseries. (The art of him...yeah, not the best, but I've seen worse!)

Cyke really has been an ass, yeah. Here's hoping the writers can stop being idiots and salvage the comics, or at least Beast. :)
