My thanks! This was a test of sorts. I have never done a reading of any of my poetry. I was asked by  Ratsmith to post a reading so he might be able to hear the rhythm of the poem. I hope it meets the needs?

I can only hope that what I conveyed met the tone and rhythm that was heard when you first read it. With a poem as in a song timing is all important as it allows the rhythm to come through.

Depending on how this goes I may work on readings of some of my other works.

i would say the timing is similar, but it is always different to hear it from the author's lips. When i read poetry i have a bad habit of reading it too fast; as if i was reading a novel. I have to slow myself down and feel the poetry more than read it; so your oral presentation of your poem truly was a treat; and made your work really come to life the way it was meant to be. You make me want to do the same; what did you use to record your voice?

I know it is sometimes difficult to truly follow the rhyme and rhythm of another’s poetry. I am extremely pleased that I have been given the chance to convey a greater understanding of my words. To know life has been given to words makes those words have a greater reality. Thank you for taking the time and listening.

The application I used is a freeware product called "Audacity". It works very well and recommend it.

its scary how close your real voice is to how i imagined it to sound. Not a bad thing either.

I definately read it too fast the first time around. I could feel a much better connection to the work when you read it aloud.

Excellent reading. You have a good voice and sense of inflection for poetry.

a truely lovely reading. I'd say a pretty darn perfect reading of a poem, like exactly as one would expect a poem to be read.

Sorry for the late reply. Life’s issues seem to plague me all too much these days.
