TCW #406 ambles past the Midway AMTRAK station in Saint Paul, MN or a brisk March day in 1994.
It's headed for the Minnesota Commercial's Midway yard to pick up its train.
This scene is largely unchanged today. When the Saint Paul Union deport reopens in 2012 after having been without a passenger train since 1971 it is expected the Midway AMTRAK station will close.
Originally erected as Illinois Central GP-9 #9144, it went through IC's extensive rebuilding program at Paducah, ill.
It exited from the shops a GP-10 and gained it's 'ears' filter hoods. These hoods identify it as a 'Paducah Geep' from quite some distance away.
This locomotive is still active on the Red River Valley and Western Railroad as #406.
