My dragon species that I've formulated over time. My own sona is a female of this species.
They are an aquatic eastern-style dragon, with the female more resembling the eastern than the males. Males look more like western dragons without wings, however they do not breathe fire.
Females are smaller, about six feet at the head when standing upright, with their heads carried in the classic 's' shape. They are more decorative than males, sporting large butterfly-wing-shaped ears, whose inner fans are pigmented with the same color as their mane. Their longer whiskers end in hairless, fleshy baubles, while the shorter ones simply taper to a point. Their tails are five-tined, the outer two are mid-length, and the middle is the longest, all these ending in a fleshy bauble, the inner two are shorter and more spike-like, but simply taper to a fleshy point. The female's horns are longer and more elegant and fragile looking than the male's and she has only two, atop her head. Her eyes are pigmented entirely, with no whites or pupils, and are very reflective. Her mane, while thick and fluffy, tapers to a point between the beginning and middle point of her extremely long tail.
Males are taller than the females, standing at seven or eight feet tall at the head when in a normal standing position. Their bodies are built sturdier, thicker, and set proportionately lower to the ground than a female. Their head and muzzle is more defined and sharp, their muzzle ending in a beak instead of the fleshy base the female sports. The male's whiskers are also proportionately shorter than the female's, the tips being covered in a thick fluff, which tapers down into the scales of his tendrils. This hair is also present on the shorter stubs on the jaw, and continues under the muzzle in a beard-like fashion. The male's mane is less fluffy, and more scraggly than the female's. The male's ears are smaller, protected by a sharp horn connected to the end point of the jaw bone, accompanied by a strong, thick set of curved horns atop his head. His eyes are usually pigmented darker than his scales, but there are exceptions. The irises tend to be rather large, and the pupils are round instead of slits. His proportionately shorter tail ends in three tines, all three covered by scraggly fluff that continues down his back from his mane.
There have been very few sightings of this species, but they seem to form groups much like a lion's pride, where there are a few males at most, but many females. If a female is born into the group that is related to all males, she, along with all males, is driven from the family group once of age to reproduce.
They feed mostly upon fish and dolphin, but occasionally will take down whale, or feed upon kelp and other aquatic plants.
It is unknown the life span of this species, but based upon observations of gestation and age between birth and reproductive maturity, it is thought they can live to be around 300 years old.

Bweee! How neat 8D I love things like this. Shows how much thought people put into their 'original species' characters, and makes for a pretty freaking sweet reference. I've been wanting to do this with both my dragon and fursona species, but I'm a slackity slacker. So till I get some inspiration, I'll just keep admiring the stuff other people make 8D
I have to admit, them eating dolphins and whales first made me go 'D:', then I went 'I want steak. Ohgod maybe dolphins are sea-steak'. Smart, smart seasteak. I don't know who I am any more. DX
