Pirro quickly goes through his lockpicks in Skyrim as he tries to get into a chest that probably has a rusted dagger and a wooden bowl in it. Someone drank all the mead too!

I'm glad they ditched thew old lockpick method with the tumblers. I could never figure those things out. Still, I leave a pile of twisted broken picks in my wake everywhere I go.

Can always save your game right before you lockpick, and if you lose more than you're willing, just reload and go at it again. Been doing that since Fallout 3.

ah the skeleton key? Yeah always a nice one, luckly if one is willing to invest the time, skill training and perks for it, there is a lockpicking perk that makes your regular lockpicks unbreakable

... I'm shocked that I did not think of this. Sadly I'm neglect sneaking types abilities and focus more on rages faces bad guys with short swords.

Same as the recent fallout stuff, rotate the pick, try turning the lock.

If it weren't for the derdra lord the giving me the unbreakable lockpick in the 4th game I would never lockpick anything in that game.

I always cringe when the picks start to shake, knowing I need to make an adjustment quick.

Only thing that's a bit nerve wracking so far for me.

I've heard that in Riften, if you leave stuff in your house there, the thieves guild based in Riften will occasionally steal from your house. Though I can not confirm or deny that fact yet. My husband read it in an article or something and told me.

I hate these stupid minigames for lockpicks or hacking. Makes character skill irrelevant. It's even more annoying spending a fortune on lockpicks or repair kits only to have them break. Just give me a freaking dice roll and be done with it...

That's exactly WHY I hate them. They're easy for me. Why should it be easy for my character with a supbar lockpicking skill?

Heheh, well I suppose a good rogue would have to.

But I digress, and I'll go back into nostalgia land with games like Fallout and Planescape. I just wonder how Fallout 4 will turn out.

Turned out marvelously Gen!! So cute! I feel Pirros frustration. I always save before a difficult lock. So I don't loose to many. At one point I spent all of my lockpicks on.. the hardest.. I think the hardest is.. Expert? or Master? whichever the hardest is, can't remember. But I forgot to save first... Had to spend awhile restocking lol

I finally did get the knack of lock picking in Oblivion, though it was quite annoying. I want to try Skyrim so bad though...

If I'm not mistaken the lockpicking in skyrim is much like the one used in Thief Deadly Shadows.

I usally found the trick was to 'bounce' a tumbler a few times before putting it in place, but I still broke a lot of picks. I share this chap's frustration. :)

Y'know, I could never figure out the Oblivion method either; I just used the auto-unlock until it opened or I ran out of picks.

First time playing Oblivion after finishing Skyrim, I found my first chest and was like "wtf is this shit?"
