Been watching Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin lately, and John is awesome sexy. He's a german shepard who's a pwn hunting dog, and yeah. You should totally watch the series...it's awesome. You can find it on cruncyroll.com.
The bg was inspired by the bg's that they have in Ginga Densetsu Weed (the sequal to GNG) where they have a bg with a squiggle and the name of the character...so yeah, that's John written in katakana ;D
If I ever get a german shepard, I'm gonna spray paint it to look like John
