well, here's my thing -
they rebooted the DC Universe - bold move
did they change of the origin stories? ... no - wussy move
they also made severe backtrack steps on characters that made advanced progression in recent years (like Red Robin)
... and in business, if something isn't an advancement - it's a bad thing (no middle ground).
On the flip side, they could have addressed the "new reader" issue by taking the route that Marvel did a few years back - create an alternate comic book series for it.
Marvel Ultimate - rebooted the entire universe (in a contained world) - bold move

make backsteps on characters that made yada yada? no! (at least not on a widespread scale in a single fell swoop).
DC will survive. but it doesn't mean the reboot was little more than rearranging the patio chairs on the titanic

now that i think about it that is true with the recent young Justis even if they are missing a few characters but i think they weir trying to make make it as different as they can from teen titans but i have not kept up on comic news but then there was batman year one witch was more like the early comics not like how they had batman killing guys with guns lol but now i come to think about it powergirl her self had a few organs to
