Movie Jetfire Concept
Transformers was such a great movie! So much so that it inspired me to design my favorite Transformer in that style: Jetfire.
We all know that the origonal Jetfire toy was a repaint of a Robotech toy which was based on the F-14 Tomcat. Well, I took out the Robotech part and tried my best (without a reference) to make the F-14 version of Jetfire.
The story of his form goes like this:
After entering the atmosphere in his Protoform, Jetfire is knocked off course by Sputnik. It might've been only a fraction of a degree, but it made all the diffrence. Instead of his intended target location in Nevada, he crashes in the boneyard of the decommissioned Tomcats at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. Utilizing his advanced Cybertronian technology, he compisated for the lack of critical components (which were removed) and took on the form of a F-14 Tomcat.
But not just any Tomcat. Because of the advanced Cybertronian tech Jetfire used, his speed, firepower, and mobility was greatly increased. With the ablity to reach Mach 6 and with a turning radius that would make a sparrow jealous, Jetfire easily commands the skys.
Jetfire is normally against fighting and would rather study Earth and it's inhabitants, but when innocent civilians are in jeopordy, he'll fight to his last ounce of energon.
I tried to preserve his Robotech form as much as possible and even made the fuel tank into his main weapon. He would talk with a voice that sounded like it was broadcast over a radio and would even end with the cliche cutout. You know, that *kehsssk* sound that walkie-talkies make when the button is released. He even talks in Jet-jock at times; "Roger", "Bogies at X o'clock", "Moving to intercept target", etc.
I also added blades that extend out from the "elbow" segment of his arm armor for close quarters combat and they look cool.
I will do a side version and possibly an action pose later.

I like the overall design but I think its borrows to heavly form the orginal jet fire. Don't get me wrong most of the movie designs borrow from there original G1 versions (Optimus prime comes to mind ). I think its missing some of the organic feel of movie style. Anyways I still think its a great design though. can't wait to see the action poses.
Thanks. This design is rough as it took be about 10 min to do so figureing out where all of the parts of an F-14 would go would require knowing where they are to begin with and where the best location in robot mode they should be.
That would require a 3D version that I hope to do eventually if I ever make an attempt at it.
