This is the other half of that huge collection of sketches I posted the other day. I just sort of got into doodling expressions, especially expressions I haven't drawn before or haven't drawn on that particular character, which is fun and feels like a great way to develop them. Featured are Cress (and Trill), Rose, and Chip, who seems to have borrowed Vinyl Scratch's goggles for the night. This is Chip's 'other' set of clothes, I guess. For night work. (I also started doing the thing where I'll copy a pose and change something if I get an idea I want to explore really fast to see how this or that little tweak looks.)
Sometimes I wonder if it's strictly necessary that fur-covered, cartoony characters like these wear clothes all the time if they're relatively humanoid, and how much, since it's not like I don't draw them 'clean'. Then the other day I was watching MLP and saw Applejack take off her hat and get into bed, and it suddenly struck me that just taking off her hat made me perceive her like she was in pajamas, and that was kind of mind-blowing.
Maybe I should section these off into smaller groups of sketches?
SPECIAL BONUS: A bird talon that I felt like drawing for fun. Much more delicate-looking than how I usually do them. (Chip currently has feathery feet, but that doesn't mean I can't explore alternate designs.)
EDIT: Cleaned up some stray marks I hadn't meant to leave in. I am very tired. Sorry, everypony. EVERYTHING'S FINE, NOTHING IS BROKEN.
