At the risk of getting angry nerds after me: I much prefer the new Doctor Who, and I can see how even the 'famous' doctors don't usually match up to the new ones >:3
I've gotten what I can of the Classics, but they all seem so... Slow.
The new Doctor is all 'Right! New planet! New people! New... Wait, that's not supposed to be there!'
Though, did anyone else, like me, assume that the Time War would be in the Classic Doctor Who? <.<
If it is, then I missed it, and I'd love if someone could give me an episode number, but I was SO frustrated when I tried to figure out where I could watch the epic fight between Daleks and Time Lords <.<

I knew of the books that are essentially 'expanded universe', but I didn't know anything major had happened in them.

As mentioned above, there are very few of them, yes. Most of the books are just for fun but there are a couple that revolve around major plot points. Do you know what I wish I could get my hands on though? There are supposed to be tons of audio broad casts (think radio shows). I think those are just for fun too, but I wanna hear them so bad xp.
that is just beautifull if you dont mind my asking i heard you started watching doctor who not too long ago (like i mean in the past couple years) and i was wonderin ive tried to start becuase i was a slight fan and doctor and assistant turned me into a huge fan of docotor who but ive only seen like 2 episodes with friends and didnt know where i should begin the series on my own since its hard to find the early stuff and theres so much were did you begin and where would you recomend beggining thanks for taking the time to read this wether ya get a chance to answer or not
I think what made David Tenant's depature so heart breaking was knowing how much he LOVED being the Doctor, hell he got into actor to BE the Doctor, his "I don't wanna go" was geniune, add in everything his Doctor endured...god you wanted to hug him and tell him it'd work out, that he was brilliant....and this captures that anguish of going away so well.
