So I am still playing around with the idea of selling something like this at Furst State meets (most likely Furbowls) in 2012, with all proceeds going to TFS. Basically they would look like this, only the date of birth will be the date of the Furbowl I'm selling them at, and the barcode on the back will be generated based upon the year and the tag number (this one is year 2011, tag number 0001, and the barcode is generated from that number). What do ya think? Good idea, bad idea?
And yes... I did write the poem. it is meant to be extremely short and cheesy, as pretty much all beanie baby poems are ;P

My general plan is that I am going to wear mine (this one) as a sample to Furbowl this weekend, since it is the last furbowl of the year, and if there is enough interest generated I will whip up a batch for the first Furbowl in 2012. I dunno how many I'll print to start (I need a new ink cartridge and a bunch of laminating thingies, I might just buy an actual thermal lamination thing x.x). My idea is for me to just eat my creation costs because it shouldn't be that much, sell them for like 5 bucks a piece, since they are full color double-sided booklet style laminated badges... which is really cheap. I think they will go fast that way, and the only customization I really have to do is change the date for the Furbowl I'm selling them at, and generate an individual barcode for each tag printed. For 5 bucks a piece they could raise a good bit of money we can put towards meets and such.
So far everyone that has seen them loves them so as soon as i perfect the folding and laminating process, and get the okay from Kitt3ns to sell these at Furbowl with proceeds going to The Furst State, they'll be available. :)
With the folding and laminating, I just wanna be sure that they can be folded after lamination without the lamination bubbling or popping open. that's the tricky part x.x

i have a laminator if you'd like to use it! they're pretty cheap and totally worth it if you make a lot of badges, i got mine for about $30 at BJ's, but they sell the same one at walmart for less, i think.

Aww, thanks :3 Doing like, personal custom ones is fun too (I just did a more ty-style, traditional colored one for myself earlier), but I think it'll be fun to do a general DE furry one and raise some moolah to increase the awesomeness of our meets :)
The custom one I did for myself has a QR code that links to my FA on the back, instead of a barcode. ^.^
