Yep, I did it. ;P
I came up with this idea independently of anything else (aside from the obvious these-are-made-to-look-like-TY-tags part), but since I am pretty thorough before I go through with something I did research and found that in 2009 at MFF they had their own custom ear tags SORT OF like these that they handed out, but not really. :P
Another fur on FA (whose ID escapes me at the moment) was suiting at work and a coworker decided to create them a custom TY ear tag, but it looked like an actual TY tag and was much bigger and more "professional print" looking than this. o.o;;
So, here's my take. "fur" on the front with "original" in the star, your average warnings on the back along with a working QR code instead of a barcode, that will take you to my fursuiting FA account if you scan it with your smartphone. Inside is your normal left-side with maker info and whatever (I'm LMK and yes I cut, folded and laminated these by hand <.<), and on the right side is Tikka(TM) along with my real birth date, the meow mix poem (I DIDN'T WRITE THIS I just thought it'd be funny ;P), and my FA URL.
Sooo yeah. I think it turned out pretty neat all things considered. I need to either learn how to properly line these up so I can print them front and back on a single sheet of cardstock, or find a new lamination method or something... because when you bend these it is really hard to do it without screwing up the lamination and having the seal break. Still fine tuning I guess.

Yeah, I don't know if I ever would do that just because of how closely they follow actual TY tags... maybe a little less similar ones sure. I was thinking of maybe coming up with Delaware Furbowl ones with a blue and yellowish gold color scheme and instead of having your name in it do Delaware Furry(TM), have The Furst State Collection (R) on the left hand side and (C) all the admins names on the left.... then on the back have a barcode instead of a QR code that is generated with an actual number, which would be a combo of the year and the tag number (like 2011 0001, 2011 0002, etc). Front of the tag would have "de" in lowercase and instead of a gold star, do the TFS pawprint. If I did do those, I would do it as a Furbowl fundraiser.
Due to the amount of crazy amazing feedback I've been getting I am REALLY thinking about it. It comes down to a couple things...
1) I need to find a solid lamination method- which probably means investing in an actual laminator. This is to be sure that when the tags are folded, the seal doesn't pop on them.
2) I need to mess with my printer to get the EXACT right settings on these to print both sides on one sheet of cardstock.
3) I need new ink cartridges. ^.^;;
I am getting my holiday bonus right before Christmas- dunno how much yet, but at that time I'll be more able to splurge and pick up the laminator and the ink cartridges. Then, the plan is to crank out a bunch of the DE furry tags to give out at the Delaware Furbowl meets for a $5 donation to The Furst State (www.thefurststate.com), and open up for commissions for these.
With the commissions I will be doing tags just like this one, only with your character's name™, a poem of your choosing, birthdate of your choosing, and your FA address (inside and back in text, and QR code). I probably won't include clips and I'm not sure of pricing yet- the DE ones I am going to give ALL the proceeds to The Furst State so I am eating my expenses on those. *shrug*

Well i used to use a laminator at my moms work for free, someone stole it so ive been using Staples laminator. They cost 1.00 a laminating sheet and i could do like 15+ on just 5 sheets.
Yeah, they look good so far!
Include clips if you have the funds, if not then dont! I think people can manage and find clips. I offer clips cause at a doller store in town there 1.00 for 8 in a pack.
Well i think it's the cutest thing ever and would look even better on a fursuit ear for like a tag and a brillant idea.
