This is pretty much my favorite title card I've done so far. it just sums up my feelings for the show so simply! I'm PISSED.

PPS - WRONG AGAIN, they ended the series on ANOTHER mini-arc. I don't even know how I kept messing that up. Regardless, my opinions on the season as a whole are still valid.

I really wanted to like it, but it's just so bare-minimum. It doesn't branch out the franchise at all. It's so SAFE. How boring. :\

The show was FAR from safe, with Cliffjumper getting axed in episode ONE, ON SCREEN and by Star-scream no less. The limited array of characters allows us to invest in them more, and shows an AU where cybertron has died and the decepticons, due to their lack of moral ethics, have gained an advantage. The show is very balanced and dedicated to fleshing out Team Prime as well as the main 'Cons. Frankly your argument is similar to an 80s fanboy. I loved the 80s version, but it is flawed as all hell, for frag's sake, Megatron's Alt-form is... a Pistol, WHAT!? This show explores the reality of the war, with trauma, grudges, dismissal of rules of war, exploration on what is honor and how it can be flawed, and so much more that I can't put without ranting. Prime is the best transformers SHOW we've seen since Animated was cancelled, and is better than Animated in many ways. It certainly puts Beast Wars and Energon to shame, (though Armada was cool).

I completely disagree with you on every level when it comes to this review. There is a LOT more to this show than you've said, there's a hell of a lot more subtlety that you actually need to think about. The mythology of the show was leading up to the massive Unicron arc that actually made a lot of sense in the long run. The characters all have different aspects to their personalities than what you've said, especially Bulk and Arcee--Bulk is later shown to have a lot of determination and was a former architect, but forced to become a tough guy because of the war. Optimus is what he is because of his experiences as well, since he was once Orion Pax. The Autobots don't always win, especially later on. Megatron is a far more intelligent, cold and calculating version of his original self, someone who really plans things out and stands a hell of a lot more chance of winning than his original version ever did.

I hate Generation one for being a lazy and terrible 80's show that the writers admit that they didn't even care about the characters until season three, and this show is superior to that one in every single respect as far as I'm concerned, you just have to pay actual attention because they're not shoving everything in your face like most shows do.
