What would have further helped this already touching piece along is if the tails of the 2 characters were sort of playing a "hold hands" kind of look.

Erm... hopefully you know what I mean by my odd wording on that. It's just a little thing I know I once seen in some old school cartoon or other with 2 anthro characters.

I know, except that I've been trying VERY hard to keep Tens from aquiring a monkey tail (beyond the monkey tail he already has *pinches Thaden in the FANNY, bwahahahaha) in that lion tails aren't very flexible. Thaden's is of course which is why his is looped up.

Aside from the endearing sentiment, it's good to see a drawing with the intelligent use of cross-hatching. And oh, what a beautiful contrast between the dark and light manes.

I actually worked strictly in pen for YEARS. Pointilism, to be precise. That takes too long and is to rough on modern nibs so I've been picking this up again to do at work. :)
