The prose version of Shadow In Their Eyes, the tale of a soldier in an unpleasant future which is not meant as a political statement about the current U.S. who finds the lack of discipline in his "unit" (if you can call it that) to be a living hell. Cheery stuff. Some violence, mainly at the very end, but I'd not say it's gory. There's a description of a bullet's trajectory through someone's body, but it's not glorified; rather bland, I'd say. Mild language; I held myself back. Based on the poem/song.
