The Clanrats make up the bulk of Skaven forces. The majority of common born Skaven serve as Clanrats, loyal to whatever clan they are born from. Few of them are highly skilled warriors, and the majority of casualties during warfare come from their ranks, along with slaves. Still, a Clanrat who manages to survive can achieve a more important position in his clan hierarchy.
